As I photographed Fiorella’s and Jobani’s maternity session, I noticed Fio walked over to the nursery room and pick up her favorite child book, Love You Forever by Robert Munsch. She immediately opened the book and turned to an all familiar page and read the following, “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, As long as I am living my baby you’ll be”. She would immediately be overcome by happiness and a giant smile would shine through. The due date for baby Leonardo Sebastian was only two weeks away and the soon to be parents were anxiously waiting for him to make his grand entrance and fill their home with warm smiles and energy that a child provides.
A few short hours after posting my blog entry for Fiorella and Jobani maternity session, the lovely coupled welcome Leonardo Sebastian into the world. The new adventure for Fio and Geo has begun and the transition to parenthood and the life lessons that accompany parenthood will commence. It is said that the trouble with learning to parent on the job is that your child is the teacher. I have no doubt Fio and Geo will be blessed by their wonderful teacher, Leo. The three have embarked on a journey in which tears will be shed, laughs will be exchanged and patience will be tested. But, at the end of the day I am sure they will tuck Leo into his bed and give him a kiss good night and look at themselves and rejoice at the blessing they have.
