Elisa- Smash the Cake

It is said that the eyes can say more than the mouth. Elisa may not be able to talk, but one look into her lovely big brown brown eyes and one can see the joy and happiness she is currently experiencing. A few weeks back I had the opportunity to photograph the beautiful Elisa in honor of her first birthday and what better way to celebrate than with a Smash the Cake session.

Being the sophisticated little lady that she is, Elisa did not dive in into the cake when first placed in front of her. She waited until her parents had given her the OK, but even so she did with quite the hesitation. I just loved the puzzled look she gave when her father placed her little hand into the cake, almost as if looking up to ask if it was okay to get dirty. After testing the waters and eventually jumping in full throttle she had an amazing time tearing into her cake. A wave of emotions followed, but at the end of her session she was running around full of glee and smiles.
